It's probably easier to give someone a rote work IT job (tier one helpdesk, for instance) than to give them a rote work job in agriculture or machining.

Guess Virginia Tech ought to replace that Ag program with a 5-minute seminar taught by Bloomberg.

Makes sense to say broader range of minds could be traditional peasant farmer vs. Silicon Valley coder. But even traditional peasant farming required a child/teen/youth apprenticeship to learn, and not everyone was good at it. Modern farming -- yes, education involved.

I can train a level 1 IT Help Desk, all they need to bring are soft skills. Customer Service helpfulness. Personality. I can't train the soft skills. I've done it most of my life. Level 2 & 3 come with experience. I could not train a farmer. I understand farming, but it's unique.
