makes more sense in context she isn't very succinct but I think the thing she's orbiting around is that sexual attraction, while very innate and understandable, is largely a distraction from sincere intimacy

I haven't finished the section but I *think* she's saying most men shouldn't bother with a religiously celibate lifestyle unless they have a goal that attraction would distract them from and she doesn't think there is value in celibate religious orgs in the modern world
