I'm still torn between Viking and Bluestar. (looking at 60" wide, all gas, as many burners as possible. Bluestar does all burners, Wolf forces a griddle in there.) Should prob visit the Bluestar showroom this weekend. Having decision paralysis / loss aversion ($15 k !!!!)

Nota bene: Viking has had production problems; I don't know if they've been fixed. If you get the Bluestar, go for the platinum, with the interchangeable grill/griddle plates. Takes a few seconds to swap them for your regular burner covers--and our range is now our best grill.

Prob 3+ months bc need to order custom cabinets to create space, which has a long lead time...

if you just want to replace the one cabinet for the stove, consider doing something fun with stainless steel. Even if you pay a fortune for the one cabinet, it will be cheaper than replacing all the others, or trying to match the ones you have (which it never will).

Yeah, this is a weird width stove (42") going to 60". Want to go bigger, for 2 ovens. And, living on a farm and doing stuff like "15 gallons of stock" regularly, want all those burns too. So, partial cabinet redo (2 base, 2 upper) is kind necessary :(

You don't need cabinets above that stove. You need the biggest, baddest vent hood you can find.

Can a stove really be worth 16K? Not being snarky, genuinely asking.

/shrug I've wanted it for 20 years. My wife and I earn in the top 2%. My farm is paid off. Our retirement is decently funded, and getting better by the day. We're frugal: share a single 8 year old used car; most of our furniture I made or refinished. Define "worth" ?

Gives a lifestyle return, which I don’t doubt for you. Just wondering if it truly is that much better than a lower cost version. I’m a beleiver in buying quality items and in things that make life truly better, particularly if it’s a daily thing
