meh AOC is a politician and she's intentionally trying to take over or split the Dems. If there was some awesome upstart red tribe politico who was insanely popular and failed to support RINOs until they get serious about, say, the 2A and budget, we'd cheer, right?https://twitter.com/neontaster/status/1216011316919439362 …

4/ I was arguing w some redtribe friends yesterday who insisted that AOC, Pelosi, Warren, etc are all either (a) fully corrupt and can't believe a word of their own politics, or (b) so stupid that they do. It's insanely r*tarded to underestimate your political enemies thusly.

6/ If AOC signed a contract saying that in event of X she'd do Y, with enforcement mechanism Z, then, yes, questions about payback are relevant. Aside from that, though, this is about POWER not about RULES or FAIRNESS.https://twitter.com/Sherlockian42/status/1216014870832746496 …

7/ There's one place where I sort of overlap w the worldview of conspiracy minded folks: it's that the elites play by different rules than the masses. This is some small part bc dark smoke filled rooms, but is largely just mindset. Normal people are often trapped in a mindset

8/ that is (intentionally or just incidentally) inculcated by child reading and a dozen years of government school. * like up, because I told you to * wait your turn, because fairness * share your toys, bc I don't want to hear fighting some of these overlap moral principles

9/ ...but some don't, and are merely PRAGMATIC principles. Pragmatic for who? The kid / student? No. Pragmatic for the teacher.

10/ "the rules" said that Hitler and Stalin had to remain best buddies and not turn on each other - yet they were only "mandatory" to the degree that they were enforceable.

11/ The "rules" say that the star coder can't renegotiate his stock option package a week before the IPO. The "rules" say that ... etc. Read The Prince. That's how much of the world actually operates. Getting upset at people for operating inside the ACTUAL rules ... eh.

I'm crapping on her for saying one thing and doing another constantly. And yes I have a problem with small government republicans who want big government and to raise the age for vapes and shit like that. The idea that she's a fresh breed of honest politician is horseshit.

I think it's fine to crap on her for buying an expensive dog when shelter dogs exist. I get all of my dogs from the shelter. But bringing in "paying her dues" is a different argument which is less defensible, IMO.
