IIRC 50k years is when you start seeing art, gravesites, and such? If it's merely anatomical, I think it goes back more like 200k.

Not so sure that city building is such a great achievement. Also cities were enabled by a technological development called "walls". Compare to things that happened before like domestication of the dog which made men THE apex predictor on Earth. Big in comparison.
