ⓘ Dogs don't have thumbs Retweeted Dedicating Ruckus

We have no evidence that there were 50k years of BEHAVIORIALLY modern humans, merely of ANATOMICALLY modern humans. Cortical wiring leaves few fossil traces.https://twitter.com/ded_ruckus/status/1215721817018515456 …

hell, this is downright plausible 50k years of behaviorally modern humans, and the first time we figured out how to build a city was 6k years ago? doesn't add up https://twitter.com/CrusaderWatch/status/1215666219510005766 …

Best friend and I talk about this a lot. It takes a long time to cultivate plants and animals, punctuated by climatological change.

You aren't building a real city with "natural" crops.

IIRC 50k years is when you start seeing art, gravesites, and such? If it's merely anatomical, I think it goes back more like 200k.

Ofc. one can't estimate from this exactly what their cultural behaviors were like, merely that at that point they had some.

Not so sure that city building is such a great achievement. Also cities were enabled by a technological development called "walls". Compare to things that happened before like domestication of the dog which made men THE apex predictor on Earth. Big in comparison.

Turn out that people don't evolve in sync with genetic and environmental factors, along with the technological and societal progresses. This must mean cities are broken

If modern humans are reverse engineered, you can guess they weren’t so nice to each other.
