1/ Every few years I read a climate change paper, just for lulz. Last one I picked up had model defined over a 1 km grid across the earth's surface. something like 70% of those data points don't exist over land ... so they were interpolated. 0% exist over water (2/3 of earth) https://t.co/qD7PJVePy1

2/ ok, so how EXACTLY does the model interpolate to generate data for its model? two ways: (1) linear extrapolations between on-shore weather stations (2) using the model itself to populate those data points then, the model is run and ... wait for it ...

3/ the paper found that the model was pretty good at predicting .... the "real" data ... that wasn't real ... but was just generated by the model. I've taken QM in college,
@litgenstein. This wasn't quantum mechanics. This was Scientology.5 replies 3 retweets 53 likesShow this thread -

@litgenstein - are you even a real scientist? The way you refuse to deal with@MorlockP's comments and dismiss anyone who disagrees with you as a "crank" suggests the answer is no.pic.twitter.com/m7DuBZV2Jn

I suspect that @litgenstein hasn't figured out that @AetherCzar is the scientist with a PhD, and he - @litgenstein - is the unededucated goofus in this conversation
