I'm intrigued by the subscription dynamics so far! small numbers so take w/ grain of salt, but yearly subs dominate, which I didn't expect: - 2 monthly subs - 4 quarterly subs - 8 yearly subs 14 total (I am delighted, thank you and I can't wait to send you mail!)

you may find my pricing strategy interesting. in 2019 I tested the market twice — Instructions Unclear was $5 (sub-COG pricing) and my Other Internet workshop was around $100. two very different products, both sold out quickly — the latter was important because I realized:

I can actually convert while charging more than the bare minimum???? whoa! this opens up the possibilities! it was terrifying when the workshop went live because I had never done anything *near* that expensive B2C! but it worked (growth takes place outside of the comfort zone)

writing is my forte and I *love* controlling the product end to end, it's massively satisfying, so indie publishing was the obvious direction. also, I'm familiar with the process — I've created and shipped at least 10 zines. & crucially can be economically viable at small scale!

anyway, I specced out various publication sizes and prices for them w/ different order amounts, plus domestic shipping, then modeled revenue based on different prices and cadences (including one-off)

constraints on price that I had to accommodate: - must cover COGs, shipping, payment processing fees, taxes, *and* my opportunity cost (I'm not at a place in my life where I can pour tons of time into projects that don't make money) - must be worth it from customer perspective
