6/ Nodes that are neither initial nor terminal have an integer number n of traversals, and thus 2n line segments ending in them (EVEN) If A and D are distinct nodes, each has an ODD number of line segments. If the same node, then EVEN.

7/ So we know that EITHER (a) 2 nodes have an odd number of line segments terminating there, and the others even, or (b) all nodes have an even number of line segments terminating there. HOWEVER, diagram as drawn has 4 nodes, each with an odd number of line segments ending.
