like jesus when I realized the deadline slipping was about to become a pattern I emailed both bosses immediately for help getting caught up I got caught up in 2 weeks I have made normal-sized fixable errors since but nothing out of the ordinary

other boss has been a bit less patient and checks in on me a lot more but is still civil and professional and I don't fault her for that at all! it's only been a few weeks since I got caught up. but 2nd tweet characterizes most interactions with the other boss, lately :/

if this is the case it's very disheartening bc I don't understand why even trying to consider from their perspective, it doesn't make *sense* to fire mehttps://twitter.com/poiThePoi/status/1214297540415373314?s=19 …

I do have Anxiety over getting fired fairly frequently when I'm stressed or overwhelmed I'm neither right now and feel like I'm in a good place to think about this what I am is dismayed because it really, really doesn't make sense.

this is a busy workplace, I have downtime sorta today while I wait on reports to load and info from other people but I do average an actual 40 hours of work if they fired me they'd have to disperse that across 3 other people who *also* have full workloads blah

I wanted a new job anyways was gonna start looking after January so this doesn't really change any plans and even if I'm fired I'll be fine, ultimately but I don't know how to assess *future* employers now

I had a ton of stress when I started the atmosphere made me feel...parented? but I wrote it off as downstream of my tendency to worry about everything possibly I was picking up on a real dynamic but idk lotta emotional whiplash in this office

*shrug* lol to be honest I don't think I've ever worked in a highly functional environment dunno if it's bad luck or just...me

without a track record / professional credentials, you're going to be poking at small orgs, and small orgs are usually much less functional as you climb the career success tree things get better but focus on one thing I said: getting fired isn't a big deal. It happens. >>>

this means that (a) you should not be paralyzed with fear as you keep doing this job (and doing it well!). This is often a paradox - one does poorly bc one is afraid of being evaluated poorly, (b) if worst does come to worst, eh, shrug and move on. There's no "permanent record".
