The other strategy game I'm playing lately is Galcon - a real-time strategy game stripped down to the absolute essence. Games take anywhere from thirty seconds to a few minutes. It's like RTS popcorn.

Thought of you yesterday during a discussion of TTG at the con. Specifically a game so complicated due to variant configuration that one of the programmers in the discussion said she wrote an app just to synchronize the rule sets. :)

These were brilliant people who love games, a lot. And they both said they *liked* the game. But one of them described it as, “Imagine if you took a Badger deck and decided that’s how a deck of cards *should* be and made all your games for it.”

I'm reminded of Star Fleet Battles, in which one needs a minor rule book in order to specify which rules from the major rule books one will be playing with today
