guys, I almost never travel but these days I'm starting to, a bit (visit frens in TX, etc.) I'm comparing flights on Expedia * is that the best place to do this? * where do I look to compare reviews of various airports for transfers? * is there a good site reviewing planes?

This is difficult. If travel in us only? Cheapest. If international air canada and Lufthansa. I have a shit back, but 6 hours tops doesnt matter. It's the 14-18 hour flights that kill you. Always fly nonstop if you can.

I find it's not so much about the specific type of aircraft, as the airlines are always free to swap equipment after you book for something else. Instead focus on the comfort/cost ratio, and try to stick with one airline. Status helps the comfort/cost model.

Make friends with an aircraft mechanic. Generally speaking tho a seat in the escape door spot will have more leg room but some airlines charge extra. Sitting further from the engines will make the flight quieter. If you’re tall or fat you might prefer an aisle seat.
