3/ I've told this story a few times before, so feel free to tune out, but about 10 years ago I was running my firm, I had a bookkeeper, I asked her at the end of the year "are all bank statements reconciled?" she said yes, so I sent the data to our accountant for tax prep.

This is a full-time bookkeeper for your company? How does that happen?

You would be surprised. I'm a CPA with my own practice. I've built my practice through following after incompetent bookkeepers and CPAs and fixing their messes. Seriously, no one new calls me unless their stuff is in shambles.
