The specific books are: 1. "Prisoners of Power", 2. "Beetle in the Anthill", 3. "The Time Wanderers". Very nice books. Had a huge influence on me. The most info on Golovans is in the second book. Golovans are introduced in the first book & only mentioned in passing in the third.

AFAIRemember the big-headed dogs were bona fide aliens and later there are mentions of their planet and (some) cooperation with humans on some interstellar problems

With Noon Universe it's kinda hard to say in my opinion. Why are there humans, not just humanoids, but humans, all over the Galaxy? They were presumably seeded there by the Wanderers.
