"breaking the story" for Aristillus 3 and 4 is MASSIVELY HARD !@#-ing WORK. ...but it's working. Slowly. That 7+/- 2 thing is rearing its head. Half of what I'm doing is process hacks to help me deal with all of the balls in the air. A massive whiteboard + postits might help

2/ One thing I was worried about was that 3 & 4 might have fewer action scenes than 1&2, so I counted both. Yep, needed a few more. The prepper / survivalist thread is fun. Breaking quite easily. Just added a few action scenes to it which are going to be nice.

3/ "Labor" thread with Louisa actually has a half dozen sub threads and is as complex as a book all by itself. One process hack: stop using one massive file with all of the scenes. Have one text file per thread, and enumerate the scenes there. >>>

4/ Of course, no we run the risk of the various threads not synchronizing well, so I've got explicit thread sync points pthread_join() /* an analogy */

5/ Yep. There are artifacts in Aristillus 1 and 2 that are there because I had time loops: A happened before B happened before C happened before A. I had to clone A into A1 and A2 so that A1 < B < C < A2 >>>https://twitter.com/WomanCorn/status/1206996645793214464 …

6/ Specifically, the lunar communication satellites get destroyed by Earth TWICE. Only way I could fix the fact that timeloops aren't real.

7/ Tolkien's revisions were around phases of the moon, as you point out - far smaller fixes to far smaller mistakes!

8/ I'm doing a lot of work up front to figure out where various planets are at certain times (in opposition and thus X km apart, or closer, thus Y?) Opposition can't work bc I need radio line of sight. Also there are Aldrin cycler orbits in play.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qCVfUlFZQ4U …

https://ovid.github.io/starmap.html we do this sort of thing a lot in one of the games I play. it's really all about collecting data points. Not sure if it's relevant to your situation, but it does help out knowing what's where.

It's just star systems, and I understand you need planetary data, but this is where ML and a spare computer comes in *really* handy.
