Many workers at a fancy grocery store near me (who park in my nabe) have pricey new cars -- Honda sedans, etc. Will surely take them 7-10 years to pay off on grocery stocker salary. Suspect dealer is giving them cheap monthly that makes 7-10 yrs reality go into mental background.

I loathe car payments. Bought a new car back in 2012 in a moment of weakness. Relieved when my ex-wife totaled it a couple years later and insurance saved me the $460 payment + netted me $6k.

Current vehicle is 9 years old, paid off, in good shape, and will be driven until it’s cheaper to buy another car. Which will be at least 3 years old.
