4/ me: "well, if by 'XYZ', you mean 'the codebase', I'd say 90%" him: nodding, smiling me: "but if by 'XYZ', you mean the FIRM, I'd say 0%. I mortgaged my house, hired an engineer, and had him do some work. So from that PoV, I did the entire thing myself. <pause> why?"

It's hard to see how the legal outcome could have been different. But it is especially sad that they weren't able to reach an agreement that could have allowed Dan to keep drawing B&V etc

More to the point, it's indicative of something deeply wrong that a legend like Dan, who really defined Archie's modern brand, could come to the end of his career feeling so dissatisfied.
