becoming more and more worried about endemic self-loathing. has self-loathing always been endemic and I'm just aware of it now as an adult?

i'd been under the impression that people were loathing everyone else, when they probably SHOULD be loathing themselves. you know, in that "if everyone you meet all day is an asshole..." kind of way

self loathing, at least variety I'm familiar with, comes from the delta between one's work and the absolute possible epitome / gold standard the loathing is GOOD it MOTIVATES Fewer people should be content with their output. I think, although I'm not sure, that this is unusual? my self-loathing is more of the "there's something wrong with your personality" variety. it's not rational

I think my variety of self loathing is why self loathing evolved - it's adaptive. Not saying all SL takes that form. ...but maybe it's good to try to forge the raw material into a sharpened weapon?
