Cole's books & Corcoran's books strike me as the product of very different writing processes. Written at a white-hot pace but with intricate plotting under the surface, vs. extensive deliberation and rewriting. The 1st approach is harder to learn, but easier once you master it.

Based on my personal experience, I'd have had a career if I didn't rewrite endlessly. I think people need to read, read, read, then write. Of course you have to edit. But SO many writers seem to edit the life out of their work.
