Meh. Knee-jerk red tribe is "OMG OMG how can we ever let someone out on day leave", but ... why? If we're going to let someone out at time X, might not gradual re-acculturation be a good thing? Seems like something to be studied, not rejected.

No, sentences are quite clear about when parole can be granted. I think you're upset that "life, with possibility of parole after 15 years" means "life, with possibility of parole after 15 years", and not ""life, with no possibility of parole" ?
