So somehow I sold 16 copies of my novel today! But I don't know why, and I'm hoping that some people with more marketing / sales / twitter / KDP experience can help me figure out why.

My book has been out since May, and it's gotten a few sales here and there, but nothing like this in one day. Yesterday, I had a link retweeted by some folks with a lot of followers, and I got 9 clicks and 3 sales.

This morning I had 7 sales, and got more steadily throughout the day, which would make me think that it's on some list somewhere that Kindle Store customers are discovering, but it's not ranking that high.

Rank has increased throughout the day, and it's about 33k overall, ~155 in highest-ranking subcategory, but it definitely was not that high this morning when sales began coming in steadily.

So my question is, how are people finding it? Is there a secret 99 cent list that the three Twitter sales from yesterday got it ranking on? Did Amazon decide to start suggesting it to the ~100 people who have downloaded the free short story prequel?

Are these all non-click sales from the retweets yesterday? Is it being advertised on a blog or account that I'm not aware of? It can't be a complete fluke. Any ideas? Sorry for the long sausage-making thread.

Looks like those RTs got your book in front of a new audience. Amazon rank updates are on a roughly 8-hour delay. Sometimes the algorithm just takes hold of a book for no discernible reason. This is why I need to start using trackable links!
