Hey writing frens - I have a question and I need some advice. I've outlined a new short story, and I sort of like it ...but I think it's missing something Act 1 introduced the characters and presents a mystery. Act 2 is a procedural: they solve the mystery & enter inner sanctum

2/ and ... wow, OK, here we are. Our two protagonists solved the mystery and now we're up to the same place that we were at the end of Firefly Season Two. The little procedural investigative part was fun ... but there was no enemy they were struggling against. Man vs nature?

Solving the mystery is a story. Type "END" and move on to the next story. Possibly with a few paragraphs of coda. Some stories are novellas, some are short, some are flash.
