I have a son who is autistic. A paddle would have inflamed things. An isolattion Room is just another word of ‘sensory room’ that they use at his therapeutic school. (Not defending the school in the story, just saying there’s more to it).

I'm not talking about paddles and isolation in general - I'm talking about them specifically in the context of autistic children. The paddle is evil because it will inflict pain, will not help, and will make the situation worse.
