"high-IQ circles" are not synonymous with "high IQ people". in a 2x2 matrix, where one axis is "gendered" and one is "IQ", the low-gendered / high IQ people form what we call "high IQ circles". ...but there are tons of highly gendered high IQ people who don't join those circles https://twitter.com/Suppose_Not/status/1194686641174196234 …

2/ so while all the barely-gendered MENSA spergs are jerking themselves off with their soft hands to the thought of their stratospheric 132 IQs, there are 150 IQ guys in the gym, or running companies, or running Tough Mudder, or racing motorcycles. and same for high IQ women.

3/ the interesting question is: how did the low-gender/ high IQ people end up being the ones to lay claim to the phyle name of "high IQ circles"? My answer: the more strongly gendered men didn't CARE to compete with them for that phyle name.

4/ The high IQ / high gender people were too busy achieving their life goals in the military, or on Wall Street, or in marriage to post in self satisfied tones about their phyles in /r/rationalism (or alt.discussion.highiq.fap.fap.fap.fap if we're talking early 90s)

I have a feeling you unsubtly switched "high-gendered" for "high ambition, low inclination to brag" which ain't the same thing. Me, I would probably disagree with the original premise that high-IQ circles are low-gendered. Some are, some aren't.

I may have done it, but I certainly didn't do it to brag, because I don't think of myself as highly gendered. Don't assume motivations, please.

I neither said not implied anything about your motivations. Don't think this discussion had anything to do with you personally, anyways.

ah, I misunderstood ; I thought the words "to brag" were OUTSIDE the quotation mark in your tweet above, but they were inside I was wrong; retract my previous. sorry
