I find challenging unproveable axioms to be (a) tiresome, (b) aggressive / an attempt at social dominance / belittling. If you think that eating animals is wrong ... what of it? I'm never going to convince you to change your ethics, and belittling you for it is just rude.

Oh, I agree that trying to argue about it at all is futi-oh. I was wondering "why do the people who do argue about it start by kneecaping themselves?" and I've realised I should've been asking "how stupid does somebody have to be to argue about it?" and then all becomes clear.
