I’ve been watching Call the Midwife recently and there is this ongoing plot line with one of the nuns who has dementia. All the other women in the house go to great lengths to find tasks for her to do that are usually actually helpful but not difficult so she can contribute...

Because she gets upset with being idle. It struck me because it’s not a common mindset nowadays, either the nun being insistent that she has to work or everyone going to an effort to provide opportunities for her to.
