I'm following a concept artist on twitter, and he's RTing a bunch of young artists who have portfolios and want work (good for him! good for them!) but it kills me that 2/3 of the tweeters feel the need to explain their gender and sexuality "I'm agender" "I'm bi" "I'm nonbinary"

It IS a helpful indicator of which artists are likely to flip out on you over political shit and might be worth avoiding despite the quality of their work.

if you look at the example you provide, the concept artist in question specifically said he would retweet the portfolios of queers, so they are identifying their disorder to earn the retweet.
