2/ one should not, but one can, imagine a "liason" with a "mistress", and the connotations, while wrong, are titillating. now thinking about the "secondary" in your "polycule" who runs a GURPS campaign at an MIT group house where all the characters area anthropomorphic rabbits

I'm not criticizing poly in this thread; I'm criticizing the nerd tendency to nail down all the terms, create taxonomies, debate things endlessly, etc., which is kind of the antithesis to the creative ambiguity that human relationships often thrive on.

I don’t know what you think you’re doing but you literally started by retweeting someone talking about “intellectualized sex freaks” so maybe rethink how you “don’t criticize” someone.

The other terms you mentioned are not, in fact, the exact same thing. Mistress does not equal ... whatever the poly kids call it today. The fact is, there aren't good terms for it, so the nerds invented some pretty awful terms to meet their needs, as nerds are wont to do.

> some pretty awful terms ... as nerds are wont to do. so we're 100% agreed, then?
