2/ No one says that orthodontics should be "safe, legal, and rare". No one is even tempted to.

Eh, not the best argument to go with. It's a surgery. Every surgery comes with risks, and quite a few women each year can no longer have children due to complications. It's also an expense a lot of (typically low IQ people) can't afford.

Because the cut-off date is inevitably arbitrary. So err on the side of "avoiding the question being relevant" while also having an opinion about the question of rights at hand. A transhuman future where women can't conceive unless they've chosen to would be preferable.

We've lived in that future for 50 years already.

2/ So you're saying that Dems put the "rare" in there bc of risk to the mother? Do Dems say that laparoscopic knee repair should be "safe, legal, and rare"?

reasonable pro-abortion arguments seem to generally acknowledge the moral worth of the child, but hold it lesser than bodily autonomy as part of a balancing test (usually implies theories of value of life based on consciousness, or similar)

... do you know what abortion does to a woman’s body? Birth control and family planning are way, way better options for everyone involved than abortion.
