I eat out maybe ~1/wk average excepting vacation Rest of my meals are pretty frugal Mostly sandwiches and burgers I build/cook myself or I just get (free) cafeteria food

yeah, I either had that impression or had heard you say so. And even if you DID eat out a ton, it still wouldn't matter a ton. So, hammering my vague wondering into an actual question: what do you perceive as the big cost delta between living in Seattle and me in mid of nowhere?

you could spend way more than that if you wanted I'm not in a big city, and I have multiple places within walking of my work where I could drop $80-$100 on a meal for just me if I wanted (sometimes the food is even worth it)

The most expensive restaurant in town is a 5m walk away Can't imagine I'll ever want to go there I had a Nice Meal in NYC last weekend and while it was an Experience I'm not sure it was worth a repeat
