4/ 15 months later she shut down the firm. I asked for (insisted on) my 45%. She exploded. I mean, exploded with name-calling, trash talking, etc. Destroyed a 20 yr friendship over it. Point: just because people understand contracts...doesn't mean they understand contracts.

17/ In zoning dispute, I told neighbor stakes were in the wrong place. I showed him the zoning code. I offered to pay for logging to take down trees so he could relocate. I offered $6k in cash. I went over to increase cash offer, and was sworn at. OK, lawyer time. Code duello.

Gov’t always takes liberties with “plain meaning” when it expands its powers. A lot of people, presumably the ones who read but don’t understand the contracts they sign, may question it, but get the “we’ve always done it that way” response. And they just say “oh ok.” Screw that.
