Had several very weird dreams last night. In one I piloted a shuttle to the moon which ... (cough) is not in the envelope of normal missions. I did so without a copilot. I was quizzed with some urgency about this. I kinda shuffled and tried a "it's complicated" defense.

3/ So I asked "Are you a marketing gimmick? Or are you a model payed to portray things FOR marketing organizations? Or are you a Greek / Roman goddess [ background, I've been reading The Odyssey ]? And if so, literal or metaphoric, as a "sophisticated" Roman might conceive?"

7/ All of society lived underground, in these tunnels that went on for miles and miles. Thousands of miles. Limitless. Like Stephenson's "Diggers", but to the Nth power. Once a year [ oh, got some Anathem mixed in here ] The Doors would open to The Deeper Kingdom.

8/ The Deeper Kingdom was like North Korea, but scarier. Silent. There was a prescribed ritual near The Doors, much like the peace negotiations at the Korean DMZ. We were told that the Deeper Kingdom would take ANY deviation from protocol as an excuse to engage in violence.

9/ Sort of like the Korean Axe Murder Incident / Operation Paul Bunyon. No matter what happens, DO NOT TOUCH THEM. So then the doors opened and they had children with them. One child was crying, in pain. People rushed forward to comfort it. NO! STAND BACK! DON'T TOUCH!
