seriously, tho, Eddie, I don't see any scenario where both * a situation is bad enough that 6 months of supplies is better than 2 wks * individual prepping in the burbs helps you survive for a 2 week problem, you hunker down and wait for FEMA a 6 month problem is APOCALYPTIC

6 months isn't 1918 Spanish American flu 6 months is siege of Sarajevo / WWII Eastern Front / Holocaust / Mad Max You've got food; the "nice" neighbors don't. The best prepping you can do is to get the hell out.

I'd be curious to know how many / whether any in the "prep" movement might disagree with that assessment.

But remember that 95%+ of the time, the two-week scenario is all you will need, and bugging out to another state is probably more trouble than it's worth in most such cases.

absolutely agree! I'd argue that in ~250 years, the US has never once seen a "6 month SHTF" scenario maximally pessimistic: chances are 1/5% per year , so chance of seeing one in 40 years of remaining life is < 8%
