3/ Re menu planning, have as a goal to use 3 packages of meat from basement freezer per week. Figure 12 weeks until pig slaughter, so using up 36 packages / 72 lbs is bare minimum if I want to fit 2.5 pigs in there (selling 0.5 to friend Bookstore John, I think).

5/ Oh, also, fixed this. Took the "chains" apart (actually a kind of a vernier system - clever!), then 40 seconds of oxy acetylene flame, then press them flat in the bench vise. Primed, will top coat tomorrow and reinstall.pic.twitter.com/OzGY6bu9Q3

6/ Wife tells me raccoons or whatever have killed two of our geese. No one kills and eats our geese except us! ...so tomorrow we're going to slaughter & butcher remaining six and put them in the freezer. Hoping to do it RELATIVELY quickly, so I have time to write zombie story

Replying to @gateway_error @MorlockP
Racoons are fucking terrible. The birds'll get the axe either now or in a month or so anyway, I assume. Better to get them in the freezer...
