Almost nobody has that much debt from undergrad. Median is $20k, most high numbers involve grad school. (Of course a bad undergrad major has a higher risk of grad school....)

Mostly true. If you're future job involves scavenging the ruins of post collapse America then personal debt and missed income is less of an issue!

I got way more out of college at 25 than I did at 18, and still wound up dropping out because it wasn't ultimately what I needed. The real perk of going at 18 is that it's easier to pressure you into signing an overpriced loan agreement.

Although if he just means aiming for college to mean getting good grades in highschool it makes sense. Better to have the option than not.
