You described a somewhat idealized feudal system, but you didn't answer the main question is why do you think so. You have said you think that's the system that most people will thrive under, but that's a naked assertion, you haven't advanced arguments why that should be so. 1/n

They aren't mutually exclusive, but "mercantilism" is a government policy, not a description of society. You can change policy on a dime (e.g. mercantilism was created via Navigation Acts of 1650 and repealed in 1846 with the repeal of the Corn Laws). Can't change society same.
