At the bookstore the other day I picked up Neuromancer. Gibson's introduction, 20 years later (10 years ago) was great. And then I read a few chapters. And ... man, it's a radically different book read as a 48 year old than as a 13 year old.

I hear there's a new version out, some up-and-coming author modernized it or something I hear it's pretty good

Coming close to 10 years since first reading. Maybe will not reread since I have intense positive memories with almost every part of that book.

Or will start reread and call it off if its not living up to standards. I feel pretty much the same about Chronicles of Narnia. Read through them like 3-4 times over my youth. Older, more cynical me might end up tarnishing the memories.

hot book take: MiaHM is a dystopia and the ending is Heinlein playing a joke on his readers
