Cops claimed that field tests showed the white powder on the hood of the Georgia State QB’s car was cocaine. He said it was bird poop. He was suspended, and widely ridiculed by national media outlets.
Guess what? It was bird poop.

You are skeptical of the wrong things, since the idea it was cocaine on the hood of car in motion makes no sense Anyway here’s your article https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2019/08/09/young-black-football-player-was-arrested-after-claiming-cocaine-his-car-was-bird-poop-it-was-bird-poop/ …

1) I'm not skeptical of it. I am quite convinced that the cop was wrong and it was bird poop. 2) my point was "that article did not say that it was poop" 3) neither does the article you linked to facts and citations matter

It also says in the article that further testing showed that it wasn't cocaine. You can assume that it is what he initially said it was...bird poop. Or, you can challenge this meaningless statement and demand they further test the substance to confirm that it's poop.

However, in my best estimation, the police are not going to spring for that test.
