Drove to hardware store, spent $60 on galvanized bolts in various sizes, nuts, washers ... got home, realized I need one more size. Amazon prices are about the same - done.

Depends on the end use, I prefer galv over stainless in most applications. Stainless is only preferable in light duty, high corrosion areas. Depends on the grade of your galv fasteners. Stainless tends to round or stretch easily if it’s installed/removed frequently.

cool thx it was general impression that thick / good galv was a cheaper way to get very high corrosion resistance, and that stainless varied in quality by alloy and the affordable stuff isn't amazing, and the amazing stuff isn't affordable current need: greenhouse, wheelbarrow
