Painfully true, my family has been in New England for 16 generations, 385 years. I wish we still had the land from 4-5 generations ago.

Also an interesting case study in the heretability of IQ and social class, having been solidly middle class for that long. A farmer usually owns more land than a tradesman or a sales representative.
