Nowhere! That's where one should use WD-40 as a lubricant! WD ("water displacement") 40 should be used to help break free stuck things, which should then be cleaned and lubricated with silicone spray or light machine oil. 3/ Home Shop Machinist magazine ran a pretty good test 10 or 15 years back comparing several commercial products (WD40, Break Free, Liquid Wrench) and found that acetone/ATF beat them all. I keep a 99 cent spray bottle from Target full of it handy in my shop.
