IIRC from the research no. It just has to like any other exercise. Don't damage things, lift right etc. etc.

what I've read is that growth plates at ends of bones CAN be damaged by heavy lifts regular athletic behavior is great lifting light weight is great ...but NOT super heavy weights. damaged growth plates = stunted growth
