And the last time I ran down the research, most of that money actually ends up in Blue districts within red states.

Partially its the attributable to the fact that the south has large AA population. As many other things are. AA's take disproportionate share of welfare and other programs. And vote blue disproportionately. No doubt many poor whites in the South, but probably same as elswhere.

And, if a split happened, how many companies, given today’s landscape, would stay in the blue hell? And how many of these blue state companies have assets in red states? Electricity, crops, mines, oil...there are a lot of moving parts.
