I have an answer: Because statistics from @AlexNowrasteh of the @CatoInstitute show that Hispanic immigrants vote for bigger government, more taxes, more wealth redistribution, more fascist police, and stiffer anti-drug policies than do native born Americans.

You wouldn't take my word for it, but you could look into the divergence between articulated and revealed policy preferences in voting patterns. The data is there. People mainly vote to feel good, not because they have a strategic or long term orientation towards politics
