2/ Merely trying to design a system that connects a yard hydrant in the barn to a pressure regulator to a manifold to PEX to sow water bowls / hoses / irrigation is an exercise in head scratching and frustration

3/ You can imagine a world in which every product lists its thread sizes at each end. You can also imagine a world in which people consistently refer to a thread with a searchable term (e.g. GHTF or NPT075M). We do not live in either of those worlds.

6/ starting at the yard hydrant (faucet), we are in GHT (garden hose thread): * 3' length of hose * adjustable pressure regulator * GHT / NPT thread converter now in 3/4" NPT * male/male/male Tee connector * female/female coupler chaining thusly to create a manifold * F cap

7/ then off of each of the third legs from the T connectors, we go to a 3/4 NPT F / F brass ball valve. These give us on/off capability for each zone. Coming out of each we have an NPT / PEX "sharkbite" connector. Then we run PEX through the barn, using J nailing hooks ...

8/ ...and 90 degree bend supports. We do one straight run of PEX to each destination, where we then convert back from PEX (via sharkbite connector) to 3/4" NPT, which connects to the sow water bowls. Eventually there will be ~ 20 or so zones. For now, though, just 4.

9/ Phase 2 is to add the remaining zones. Phase 3 is to add bypasses around each manual control valve, which are controlled by DC servos, so that I can have software do it all for us.

already placed order using 3/4" PEX throughout, except 3/4" brass NPT to build a manifold with a lot of ball valves
