this is a silly NDT-level point it doesn't matter if the century boundaries are arbitrary or not; given that they exist in our culture, they are relevant

OTOH, if i told you i was 3 centuries old, would you think i meant 300 years, or, say, 102?

old" changes it, a TON if I told you "I was in Denver for 3 days", you would presume that I had arrived some time in day 1 and left some time in day 3, for an average expected duration of 48 hours

if I later revealed that I'd arrived at noon on day 1 and left on noon on day 3, you'd say "yep, just as I guessed". If I instead said "arrived at 11:30 pm on day 1, left at 2am on day 3" you'd say "well...borderline, but, yes, fair."

Was thinking about this.
@BostonDelendEst wants challenge coins for HUN VI, which I endorse. Then thought of retro coins for previous HUNs. I'd be only one w a full set. But! We will do them for VI and onward. (Maybe even retro for V ?)3 replies 0 retweets 4 likes -

Math is that in batches of 50 a decent simple 2" coin is $10 each. Retro coins have smaller sell through tho... :/
