A German firm buying a couple soybean farms isn't the same concern as a bunch of Chinese state backed shell companies gradually buying an entire county
again, what's the threat model here? Some Chinese rich kid buys up 2 square miles of soybean fields, overpaying for all of it, and is now trying to operate it remotely, and is at the whim of the locals who provide labor, machine repair, fuel, fertilizer, etc. Who cares?

Because it's not just some chinese kid randomly buying a business he doesn't know how to manage

I repeat: what's the threat model here?
