so the owners of the land aren't incentivized to maintain the quality of the resource they own? that goes contrary to all other economics. My local firm that rents out bobcats, tractors, etc., does a LOT of maintenance on those assets to keep them in good quality.

I see poor management of resources mostly among those who are old and tired, and value the resources at a low price because they inherited it or whatever ... not among people who bought the resource at market prices. Odd.

but on average larger firms are better run than smaller firms ...so you're actively pushing policies that are going to make farms less well run
