We wouldn't lose. The rural areas are the majority of the country and control the food, water, and fuel the cities need to survive. History shows that every modern war hasn't gone well for the urbanites.

An agricultural South got rolled by an industrial North. It would not do Rural America any benefits to engage in straightforward warfare w/Coasts. Only chance at success is to go Intifada and become way too expensive to govern.
