2/ It was like the Al Gore "cigarettes are terrible" (when in DC) with "I have cut and stacked and dried tobacco!" when campaigning in farm country. But 20 times better.

Headline: I accidentally transported an illegal substance. Story: I sold it on the street and then ripped off the guy who sold the van by putting fake heroin back in it. Morale: i’m not a criminal because I didn’t buy the gun; I found it. And I only murdered twice

(As you might expect) I don’t have a problem with him selling the brick, or with advising others not to buy what he’s sold, or both simultaneously. I am annoyed at him stealing, twice.

Twice? I can see an argument - barely - for how selling the van back was stealing. ...but the brick? That was his.

> I can see an argument - barely - for how selling the van back was stealing. I retract this. He offered the guy a chance to inspect the van. The guy took it. Caveat emptor.

Both of these interpretations are autistic.

The gang member was trying to swindle the normie by buying a $100k van for $5k The normie was trying to swindle the gang member by selling a $2k van for $5k. Don't hate the (better) player.

The drugs didn't become the guy's just because he found someone else's stash. The applicable laws are very clear on this point. ... those applicable laws being "any dealer will fucking cut out your heart if you think otherwise". AnCap at its purest.

Now, the dealer was basically going to lose his stash because he let it get out of his control, and the guy basically rescued it for him, so the guy is entitled to a finder's fee. The dealer was honorable here and respected the law, even bumping it up to twice the guy's ask.

and @ngvrnd can attest, you have to be very careful in naval rescues to make sure that the proper party throws the rope and the proper party catches it

When we stopped in Key West over spring break, I was fascinated when the local tour guide regaled us with the stories of how the island's economy was historically sustained entirely by waiting for ships to wreck on the treacherous coast, then saving lives and taking possession.
