Totally different scenarios though based on totally different professions and situations. A farmer’s day is regimented in the sense that there’s stuff that HAS to get done or you die. A desk jockey’s day is regimented because someone told you you have to be in your seat.

You can argue “you don’t do what your boss says, you don’t get paid, then you can’t eat and you die,” and that’s true to an extent. But the productive, life-sustaining work akin to farming really isn’t there.

And the places with more leisurely cultures with long break (especially in the mid afternoon) are the ones where the heat will literally kill you if you work too hard in the wrong time of the day.
